My Makeup Must Haves

As much as I’d like to think of myself as a free spirited, beautiful, natural- faced phenomenon, I’m just not. 🙂

I love caking my face! And most of the time it’s necessary I do.

Ever since I got my first iPad at twelve and discovered Youtube, I used to spend my nights watching youtubers like Juicystar07 and jlovesmac1. (If you watched them too, can we bond over them?)

As I got older I started trying out hair and makeup looks on my little sister and myself. Unfortunately for me, the first Youtube channel I ever made was actually called Makeupandanimals1234, in an attempt to be just like those Youtubers. It doesn’t exist anymore so don’t go looking for it 😉

As I got older I found that I wasn’t too bad with makeup, and little did I know that eventually everyone in my life would ask me to do their makeup for them whenever they needed it.

I strictly do makeup and hair just for fun because I love it. I’ve considered an education in the field but I guess I was just never interested in it as a career. Who knows with me, though– I have noticed anything is possible with my impulsiveness.

ANYWAY, I wanted to make a post today to share makeup products that I’m not sure how I made it so far in life without.

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lip, shade: Christmas Cookie

Tarte amazonian clay 12-hour highlighter $29 Shade Stunner

This is the perfect everyday highlight if you apply it lightly, and if you keep building it also can be more dramatic for a full face look… and it smells so good!

Shade Light Palette $50

This is a staple to the make up bag, especially for a beginner or someone who likes to apply their makeup more quickly.

Jeffree Star consular, shade C17

The Jaclyn Hill Palette $39

Another staple! There’s endless looks you can do with the palette and it honestly looks so good on everyone.

Beauty Bakerie Lollipop Liner $18

This has literally saved my life. I am terrible at applying top eyeliner but I love to wear it. This has made it so easy to achieve a simple wing. I also cheat and use scotch tape on the corner of my eyes to keep it as even as possible.

Lollipop eyeliner

Jeffree Star Consular $22 and Velour Liquid Lipstick $18

Jeffree Star, I love you. Imagine he nonchalantly reads my blog. (I’m a huge fan). His consular is honestly really nice. It applies evenly, and the color matches my skin really well. His liquid lips were actually what put me on to lipstick, it always ties my look together and makes me feel so confident. There’s so many lipstick formals out there, but I do love his, and I love the amount of lip colors he offers to choose from.

Buxom lip gloss $21

For the most part I hate lip plumpers; every time I’ve applied one my lips get extremely irritated and a huge red ring forms around them. It’s possible that my skin may just be more sensitive than most, but when I use the Buxom glosses that never happens, so for me, they win.

Buxom lip glosses, minis

Laura Mercier setting powder $39

Setting powder is obviously a must. It keeps your makeup in place. Laura Mercier’s has been my favorite forever now.

Morphe arch obsessions brow kit $26

Filling in my eyebrows became so easy when I found this kit. You get the brow pencil, a highlighter stick for right under the brow, brow creme, and the brush to apply it.

I hope this helps if you’re on the hunt for some new products. If you got a product based on my opinion I’d love to know how it works for you!

  1. I’ve been debating for a bit now where to get a big palette from. I’m in between the Morphe Jacyln Hill and James Charles or the BH Cosmetics matte palette. I always love the crazy colors but I usually can’t seem to pull them off since I have hooded eyes.

    1. Yeah, I totally understand! I would recommend the Jacyln Hill palette because there’s a few fun colors in it but for the most part you’ll be able to use all the shades of brown that look so nice.
